Often regarded as harmonious, the natural world is rich in competition. Where plants compete for sunlight, animals compete for their space and home. We as humans have a part to play and let them have their space. Only then their ingenuity of abilities is able to flourish, and we can all dazzle in their virtuous performance.

Species in this work
Every collage is built from my own photographs of real plants and animals. Here they are, named the way a naturalist would: common name, scientific name with its author, and the branch of the tree of life they grow on.

Classification follows the GBIF Backbone, the IOC World Bird List and APG IV. Where a photograph only allows identification to genus or family, the name stops there.
